Finalization and Publishing
Export, optimize, and publish your videos on the major platforms with a strategy.
📤 Export Settings
Exporting is the last step before publishing. The wrong settings can ruin a perfect video: a file that’s too large, low quality, or an incompatible format. Let’s learn the ideal settings for each situation.
Recommended settings by platform
| Platform | Resolution | FPS | Bitrate | Codec |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | 1920x1080 (4K if possible) | 30 or 60 | 10–20 Mbps | H.264 / H.265 |
| TikTok | 1080x1920 | 30 | 5-10 Mbps | H.264 |
| Instagram Reels | 1080x1920 | 30 | 5-10 Mbps | H.264 |
| 1920x1080 | 30 | 8–12 Mbps | H.264 | |
| WhatsApp Status | 720x1280 | 30 | 3-5 Mbps | H.264 |
Resolution vs. Bitrate
Resolution defines the frame size (1080p, 4K). Bitrate defines the amount of data per second—the higher it is, the better the quality, but the larger the file. For social media, exporting in 4K is pointless if the platform compresses it to 1080p.
Exporting in CapCut
- Click Export (upper-right corner)
- Select the resolution (1080p recommended)
- Choose the frame rate (30fps for most cases)
- Adjust the quality (High or Custom)
- Format: MP4 (most universal)
- Set the name and save location
- Click Export and wait
🖼️ AI Thumbnails
The thumbnail is the most important element for attracting clicks. Studies show that 90% of the best-performing videos on YouTube have custom thumbnails. With AI, creating professional thumbnails is quick and easy.
AI thumbnail tools
| Tool | Method | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Canva + AI | Templates + AI image generation | Freemium |
| Midjourney | Generates unique images for thumbnails | $10/month |
| Thumbnail.ai | Automatic generation based on the title | Freemium |
| Photopea + FLUX | Free editor + AI image generation | Free |
Elements of an effective thumbnail
Strong expressions (surprise, joy) increase clicks by up to 38%
Complements the title; never repeats it. Large, legible font.
Yellow, red, and blue stand out in the feed. Avoid pastel shades.
Viewers need to understand what it is in 1 second. Less is more.
Ideal thumbnail size
YouTube: 1280x720px (16:9), JPG or PNG format, max 2MB. TikTok: Frame from the video itself (the app selects it). Instagram: Square 1080x1080px or 9:16 for Reels.
🔍 Basic SEO for Video
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for video helps more people find your content. A few simple optimizations can multiply your views.
SEO elements for each platform
| Element | YouTube | TikTok | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Title | 60–70 chars, keyword at the beginning | N/A (caption) | N/A (caption) |
| Description | 2-3 paragraphs + links + timestamps | 1–2 sentences + hashtags | 1–2 sentences + hashtags |
| Tags/Hashtags | 10–15 relevant tags | 3-5 trending hashtags | 5-10 niche hashtags |
| Captions/CC | SRT file (searchable) | Burned-in (in the video) | Burned-in or auto |
Use ChatGPT for SEO
Ask ChatGPT: "Generate a title, description, and 15 tags for YouTube about a video that teaches how to create images with AI using Midjourney. Audience: Brazilian beginners." AI will generate all the SEO-optimized content in seconds.
🚀 Multiplatform Publishing Workflow
To maximize your reach, publish on multiple platforms. Each has its own characteristics, but with a good strategy, you can adapt one piece of content for all channels.
Recommended publishing order
- YouTube (full video, 16:9): Publish the full version first. YouTube values original content and indexes the video on Google.
- TikTok (short version 9:16): Create a 15–60s version with the best moments. Publish within the first 2h after the YouTube video.
- Instagram Reels (short 9:16 version): Use the same version as TikTok or adapt it slightly. Publish it the same day.
- YouTube Shorts (short version, 9:16): Publish a different short version than the one on TikTok to avoid duplicate content detection.
- LinkedIn (professional version): If relevant to your niche, adapt it with a more formal tone.
Tip: Don’t publish exactly the same video on every platform
Adapt the content: change the hook (the first 3 seconds), adjust the caption text, and use hashtags specific to each platform. This improves algorithm performance and avoids penalties for duplicate content.
📅 Consistency and Scheduling
Publishing consistently is more important than publishing frequently. One quality video per week is better than three mediocre videos.
Scheduling tools
| Tool | Platforms | Price |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio | YouTube | Free |
| Meta Business Suite | Instagram, Facebook | Free |
| Buffer | Multiple platforms | Freemium |
| Later | Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest | Starting at $25/month |
Best times to post (Brazil)
| Platform | Mon–Fri | Sat–Sun |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube | 17h-20h | 10h-12h |
| TikTok | 11am-1pm or 7pm-9pm | 10h-14h |
| 12pm-1pm or 6pm-8pm | 11h-14h |
📊 Basic Analytics
Publishing is only half the work. Analyzing the results is essential for continuous improvement. See the most important metrics for each platform.
Essential metrics
| Metric | What it measures | Initial goal |
|---|---|---|
| CTR (Click-Through Rate) | % of people who click after seeing the thumbnail | > 5% |
| Average retention | % of the video people watch | > 40% |
| Engagement rate | Likes + comments + shares | > 3% |
| Viewing time | Total minutes watched | Growing month over month |
| Conversion rate | Sign-ups / new followers per video | Increasing |
AI analysis
Paste the YouTube Analytics data into ChatGPT and ask: "Analyze performance data from my last 10 videos and tell me the patterns, what's working, and suggest improvements." AI identifies trends that would be difficult to spot manually.
