Course · Claude Code · beginner to advanced
Have Claude Code follow your rules automatically: “when this happens → run that.” From the fundamentals to safeguards, automation, and team use—learning by doing, with real retention.
The path
The learning paths
Each path stands on its own and goes deeper — and every lesson ends with a “practice now” exercise you run on your machine. Start with Fundamentals or jump to where you need help.
1 Trail 01
What a hook is, the eight lifecycle events, the settings.json, what the hook receives (JSON) and how it responds (exit code + JSON).
2 Trail 02
Security safeguards: block dangerous actions with exit 2, read the command before it runs, real-world cases, and the allow/ask/deny decisions.
3 Track 03
Format on save, notify when finished, log commands, and inject project context at the start of the session.
4 Track 04
Version control hooks for the team, ensure determinism, run in headless/pipeline mode, and follow the hygiene practices that make hooks powerful without making them risky.
How you learn
One idea per section, with a figure in the margin that follows what you read. It grabs your attention without wearing you out.
Each lesson ends with a real hook that you paste into your project and watch run — it’s not just theory.
Highlight a passage and it automatically becomes a card. Your review material builds itself.
The cards come back at the right time so you don’t forget. "Review today: N" awaits you in your journey.
