MODULE 1.2 · TIER C

🗣️ Cowork, voice, and the web

Good but underused features. Hands-free voice, the Cowork desktop app, connectors in the CLI, local file access, citations, and the web collaboration layer. All of this expands where and how Claude works.

🎙️ Voice Mode

O /voice opens full spoken conversations with Claude— hands-free. It works for both chatting and dictate. Great for brainstorming without a keyboard; external tools like Wispr Flow make dictation even faster.

🖥️ Cowork

Cowork is the desktop agent WITHOUT a terminal from Anthropic, built for knowledge work. It’s a great product — but almost everything it does can be done in Claude Code, with greater capacity. Its place is as entry point for non-technical people who are overwhelmed.

✓ When Cowork shines

  • ✓A nontechnical person who’s intimidated by the terminal.
  • ✓Anyone who’s overwhelmed and wants a simple entry point.
  • ✓Knowledge work without needing everything in Code.

✗ Where Code wins

  • ✗Almost everything in Cowork also runs in Claude Code.
  • ✗Code has more capability and more control.
  • ✗For advanced use, the terminal is still home.

💡 Practical tip

If you're already comfortable in the terminal, start with Code. Save Cowork for introducing the ecosystem to someone who isn’t technical — it’s the gentlest way to show what an agent does.

No terminal

Knowledge

Non-coding work.

≈ Code

🔌 Interactive Connectors

Add and manage MCP connectors inside the CLI. You log in to a service and the tool calls become available automatically — without having to configure MCP in the terminal by hand. It’s interactive: log in, and the tools appear.

1

Add the connector in the CLI

Instead of editing config in the terminal, you add the connector from within Claude Code itself.

2

Log in to the service

The login flow is interactive. You authorize once, and you're done.

3

Available tool calls

That connector's tools are available for Claude to use automatically — no manual setup.

Within the CLI

Not in the raw terminal.

MCP

Default connectors.

Interactive login

Authorizes once.

Automatic

Tools appear on their own.

📁 Local File Access

Connect a folder for Claude read and organize your files. It's one of the major benefits of local terminal agents: they don't just talk about the files—they actually work with them, reading, organizing, and editing.

🗂️ What it does with the folder

  • •Reads the content to understand what's there.
  • •Organizes, renames, and restructures when you ask.
  • •Edits files in place — it’s not read-only.

💡 Practical tip

Point it to a messy downloads or notes folder and ask it to organize things. It's the fastest way to see why having the agent in your local files is so valuable.

Connect folder

Just point it and go.

Reads

Understands the content.

Organizes

Restructure everything.

📚 Citations & Chat Search

Two anchoring and recovery features. Citations grounds responses in your documents with exact citations (via API). Chat Search searches all your past conversations — retrieves what you’ve already discussed.

✓ Citations

  • ✓Grounds the response in your documents.
  • ✓Shows the exact citation for where each excerpt came from.
  • ✓Available via API: trust and traceability.

✓ Chat Search

  • ✓Searches all past conversations.
  • ✓Recovers that decision you made weeks ago.
  • ✓"Where have we talked about this before?" — solved.

💡 Practical tip

Think of them as a pair: Citations says where the answer came from; Chat Search says where you’ve already talked about it. Together, they turn history and documents into useful memory.

Grounded

In your docs.

Exact citation

Trackable (API).

Searches conversations

All history.

Useful memory

Recovers the past.

💬 Web & collaboration

The layer that brings Claude wherever your team already works — and gives you privacy when you need it: Claude in Slack, Incognito Chats, /teleport, Cowork Plugins e Cowork Projects.

Collaboration

  • •Claude in Slack — mention @Claude and it does the task and replies in the channel.
  • •Cowork Plugins — extends Cowork with extra capabilities.
  • •Cowork Projects — organizes work by project in Cowork.

Privacy & bridge

  • •Incognito Chats — chat that isn't saved, remembered, or used for training.
  • •/teleport — pulls a Claude web session into the terminal.

💡 Practical tip

Start something casually on your phone or the web, and when you want the power of the terminal, use /teleport to bring the session to Code without losing context.

@Claude on Slack

Task in the channel.

Incognito

Doesn't save or train.

/teleport
