MODULE 5.2

⚡ Motion Generation in Seedance

A director doesn’t guess—they observe, measure, sequence, and test. Seedance understands physics, not adjectives. Here you’ll learn to build movement with Force, Timing, and Weight, and turn intention into a controlled sequence of events.

⚙️ Strength + Timing + Weight

Every movement is built on three elements. Seedance understands physics, not adjectives — then physics is how you communicate.

⚡

Strength

What drives the movement — impact, acceleration, gravity, interaction.

⏱️

Time

How long actions take—precise durations such as 0,3s or 1,2s.

⚖️

Weight

How objects behave physically—inertia, drag, falling.

✨ Central idea

Movement = a controlled sequence of events. Before writing the scene, define the camera, force, sequence, delays, and perception.

2

🔄 Sequence: Large → Small → Particles

The order of events over time is reality’s physical signature. The rule: large → small → particles.

Primary action the big movement Secondary smaller elements Particles dust · smoke · debris

Impact example

Debris → dust → smoke

Water example

Splash → droplets → mist

3

📷 The Camera Defines Perception

The camera is what the viewer experiences. Always define its behavior: position, movement, and stability.

Position

Low, open, close-up.

Movement

Pan, tilt, dolly, orbit, shake.

Behavior

Stable vs. handheld.

🎥 What the examples demonstrate

  • •Helmet cam, tracking shots, drone follow
  • •Continuous orbit and steady pull-back
4

🧍 Human Reaction: Show, Don’t Name

Emotion is shown physically—through breathing, micro-movements, eye focus, and body tension. Never state the emotion: show it through movement.

✗ Instead of saying

  • ✗"He's scared"
  • ✗"She's nervous"

✓ Show

  • ✓Fingers slipping
  • ✓Eyes widening
  • ✓Changing breathing
5

📏 Measurable Details & Timing

Timing creates realism. Use measurable details — time, distance, and angle — and control the speed. No vague descriptions.

timing:
  acao_principal: "0.3s — impacto"
  reacao_corporal: "1.2s — tensão e recuo"
slow_motion: "30% da cena em câmera lenta"
  efeitos_residuais: "poeira permanece por 2s"

📌 Key Rules

  • ❗No vague descriptions
  • 📏Use timing, distance, and angle
  • 🎯Focus on observable actions
  • 🎥Always define the camera behavior
6

🔁 Secondary Movement

Everything continues after the main action. These delayed layers create depth and realism.

🌫️
Dust stays in the air
💨
Smoke leaves trails
💧
Water hangs suspended in the air

🧠 Final conclusion

You don’t need to describe everything. You only need four things—Seedance turns them into motion:

Strength
Sequence
Camera
Human reaction

📝 Task — Build a Scene with Physics

Create your own scene using this method. Include all four elements:

  • ⚡Strength
  • 🔄Sequence
  • 📷Camera
  • 🧍Human reaction

Then explain: why this speed? why this camera? what does the viewer feel, without naming emotions? Show everything through movement and timing.

📌 Module Summary

✓
Strength + Time + Weight — Seedance understands physics, not adjectives.
✓
Large → small → particles — the order of reality.
✓
Show, don't name — emotion through the body, not words.
✓
Measurable details — timing, distance, and angle create realism.
