Selling with AI 5 · Masterclass: the calm sale|INEMA.CLUB-PRO

Lesson 1 · 15 min

The calm sale: the four pillars

People who understand AI often get stuck in the conversation, not in the technology. This lesson replaces improvising and a memorized script with four pillars that work together: curiosity, authenticity, listening that leads, and a light close. And it shows what you actually sell in the end: trust and ongoing advisory, not the build.

Start the lesson
A consultant sitting across from the owner of a small shop, leaning in to listen, with coffee cups on the table.

In this lesson you will

  1. 1What it means to sell an AI service, and what it doesn't
  2. 2The five sticking points for sellers, and where each one is tackled
  3. 3The four pillars: curiosity, authenticity, listening, and a light close
  4. 4Why, in the end, what you sell is the ongoing advisory

Goal: replace improvising with the 4 pillars of the calm sale and find your own sticking point, selling a service built on trust rather than a build.

01The four pillars of the calm sale

Four pillars in sequence and one destination. Click each block.

Building got easy; whoever sells only the build competes on price. Whoever investigates the problem becomes the only person who understood the company.

The closing block is the smallest of all. If it seems like the hardest, the problem is in the listening and the diagnosis.

02What this course calls selling

Three shifts before any technique.

1. Selling is leading

Selling an AI service is almost never selling technology. It's getting a busy person, who has been let down before, to agree to change one piece of the company's routine.

Selling is asking questions until the real problem shows up, and leaving every meeting with a next step that has a date.

Not sellingListing features and waiting for excitement; pulling out a yes with a catchy line; dropping the price until someone accepts. That isn't selling, it's surrender.

A prompt to practice pillar 1 and the four-week plan.

Prompt · five curious openers
You are my sales conversation coach. I sell <what you sell: AI diagnostic, 90-day mentorship with managers, team training>
to <type of company: clinic, trucking company, accounting firm...>.
Write 5 conversation openers that:
1. start with a QUESTION about the person's business, never about my service;
2. use the vocabulary of people who work in that industry, not tech jargon;
3. fit in two sentences spoken out loud;
4. naturally lead to a second question — write that second question too.
Then point out which of the 5 would sound fake if said by someone who has never worked
in the industry, and rewrite those in an honest way: curious without pretending to have experience.
Four-week plan
WEEK 1 · pillar 1
In every conversation, ask 3 questions before giving any opinion.
Write down what came up that you would not have found out otherwise.

WEEK 2 · guilt-free script
Five milestones on one sheet: open, investigate, size up, recap, agree on the next step.
Use it in your next two real conversations.

WEEK 3 · talk ratio
At the end of each conversation, estimate what % of the time you were talking. Goal: under 30%.

WEEK 4 · next step scheduled
Close at least one conversation with a date: "we agreed to talk again on <day>, at <time>".

04Practice

Start with yourself, then with the first sentence of the conversation.

1 · Your sticking point

10 min

Read the five sticking points and pick the one that weighs on you most. Write one sentence about when it showed up in your last sales conversation, and the lesson in this course that tackles it.

Done when: you have written down 1 sticking point, 1 real situation where it showed up, and the number of the lesson that will tackle it.

2 · Five curious openers

20 min

Run the five-openers prompt with your service and your type of client. Read all five out loud and cut the ones that sound like an ad voice-over.

Done when: at least 3 openers are left that start with a question about the client's business, and none mentions a tool or your service.

05Quick quiz

4 questions. The explanation appears after your attempt.

Question 1 of 4

According to the calm sale, where are most sales lost?
