📝 List of 20-30 brands
Build a list of 20 to 30 competitors that compete for the same customer as you. With a fixed list, you keep an eye on the same brands and quickly notice what’s starting to catch on.
🔑 How to put it together
Write this down in a notebook or simple spreadsheet: brand name + link to its library. Revisit this list every week.
🎯 Target the Same Audience
Choose brands that speak to the same person you want to reach—the same age, the same problem, the same desire. An ad that works for another audience may not work for yours.
💡 Define your avatar
In one sentence: who is your ideal customer? E.g., "a 45- to 60-year-old woman who wants to take care of her health without complications." Target brands that speak to her.
↕️ Sort by impressions
Within each brand's library, sort the ads by highest impressions. The top ones are where the money is—the most likely winners.
📊 Rule of thumb
Don't try to look at 200 ads. Look at the top 5-10 from each brand. That's where the winning formula is.
✅ Cross-check the duration
Before copying, confirm that the ad has been running for at least 30 days. It’s no use copying something that’s been around for 5 days—you can’t tell yet whether it sells.
✓ Green light
- ✓High impressions + 30 days or more running.
✗ Wait longer
- ✗Live for only a few days — it’s still too early to trust.
🧩 The download extension
There's a free browser extension, Ad Library Downloader, which adds a download button on top of the library ads. You install it, refresh the page, and the button appears.
- 1. Install the extension from your browser’s store (Chrome/Brave).
- 2. Open the ad library.
- 3. Refresh the page (F5).
- 4. A “download” button appears on each ad.
💾 Download and Build Your Collection
With the extension enabled, one click saves the ad video to your computer. Do this with the top performers and you create a golden collection to study and recreate in Tracks 3 and 4.
✏️ Final track exercise
Download 3 winning ads in your niche and save them in a folder called “models.” They’ll be the raw material for the next track.
