Proposal and scope: four blocks, deliverables and limits
The proposal turns the plan into a commitment. It says what you deliver, what you don't deliver, and what the client needs to do. A clear scope avoids the month 4 fight, when the client thinks "SEO" included everything, up to position 1.
1The four scope blocks: foundation, content, measurement, AI visibility
2A deliverable you can check and a limit in writing
3What the client needs to do for it to work
4Market ranges as a reference, not as a price list
Goal: write a one-page proposal with the scope in four blocks, deliverables, limits, and what the client needs to do.
01 · Four scope blocks
Tap each block.
Click each block in the diagram to see what it does.
Each block has a deliverable the client can check on their own and a limit in writing.
02 · How to put the proposal together
Tap each step.
1. Scope
Choose the blocks the diagnosis called for. Not every client needs all four in the first month.
For each block: deliverable, deadline, and how to check it.
2. Limits
Write down what you don't promise: position, AI citations, number of articles, indexing time.
Google says there is no shortcut and no special requirement for AI, and AI answers vary with every run. That goes in the text, in those words.
3. The client does
Access to the domain when needed, 1 to 2 hours a week of review while there is content, someone who decides and approves, credentials at the right moment (not before).
Without that, the deadline moves along with their review, and the proposal says so.
4. Price
US vendors advertise a one-time GEO audit between US$ 500 and US$ 7,500, and monthly support for a small business between US$ 2,000 and US$ 6,000. These are numbers from people who sell, with no independent study.
There is no reliable data for Brazil. Adapt it to your market and test.

03 · One-page proposal template
Copy it and swap out what's in [brackets].
Proposal
PROPOSAL — [client] — [date]
STARTING POINT (from the diagnosis of [date])
- [3 findings, one line each]
- Non-branded searches: [clicks]/[impressions] in 28 days. Questions in the AIs: showed up in [x] of [y].
SCOPE
| block | deliverable | deadline | how you check it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation | X-ray with no major finding | 30 d | before × after report |
| Measurement | weekly export + 1-page monthly report | every month | file and report |
| Content | [3] pages with your data, approved by you | 90 d | indexed URLs |
| AI visibility | question set of [20] questions, by hand, every month | every month | spreadsheet |
NOT INCLUDED / I DON'T PROMISE
- Search engine ranking or AI citation (nobody controls it; Google says there is no shortcut).
- Volume of articles. Site networks. Paid indexer.
- Touching the site or the dashboards without written authorization (attached).
YOU NEED TO PROVIDE
- Read access to Search Console and Bing Webmaster; access to the domain when it's time to verify.
- [1–2] h per week to review and approve content; one person who decides.
INVESTMENT: [amount] — [payment terms]. Scope review on day 30.
04 · Practice: the proposal ready to send
Use the diagnosis and the plan from lessons 2 and 3.
E1 · One-page proposal
45 min
Fill in the template with the diagnosis and the plan. Choose only the blocks the diagnosis justifies.
Done when: the proposal fits on one page, each chosen block has a deliverable, a deadline and a way to check it, and the starting point has at least one number from the diagnosis.
E2 · Limits and prerequisites
20 min
Write the "not included / I don't promise" section and the "you need to provide" section. Read it out loud as if it were for the client.
Done when: there are at least 3 limits (ranking, AI citation, volume) and at least 2 client prerequisites, with hours per week written as a number.
05 · Test what you learned
The explanation appears after your answer.
Question 1 of 4
What goes into the "AI visibility" block of the proposal?skill
Correct
What you deliver is preparation and measurement. Citation is a result of the AIs, which vary with every run.

Question 2 of 4
A client asks how much it costs. You saw that US vendors charge from US$ 500 to 7,500 per audit. How do you use that number?
Correct
These are numbers advertised by vendors, from another country. They help you get a sense of the range, not as a price list.

Question 3 of 4
Why does the proposal list what the client needs to do?
Correct
A written prerequisite avoids the month 4 conversation: "why didn't it go out?" has an answer on paper.
